About this trip

Explore Tortuga Bay in a unique way !

Tortuga Bay is an amazing white sand beach near by Puerto Ayora.   Accessible from town hiking.   A great spot for and active morning or afternoon combining hiking + kayaking.

Meet your Naturalist Guide at your hotel and start walking to Tortuga Bay.  Once we signed up at the National Park checkpoint we continue along a paved trail crossing an amazing cactus and palo santo forest.  Mocking birds and finches flutter around the vegetation looking for seeds and insects while Galapagos lava lizards warm up on the rocks and keep their territories.

Once you get Tortuga Bay - walk along a soft white sand beach and observe a small colony of Galapagos Marine Iguanas.

Then go kayaking in calm water with your guide that leads you along a mangrove area looking for marine turtles, white tipped reef sharks and probably some rays !

Time relax and swim.

The Giant Tortoise Experience with Galapagos Outdoors was one of the highlights of our trip! Walking among these ancient creatures in their natural highland habitat was truly awe-inspiring. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights into the tortoises’ behavior, history, and conservation. The scenery was just as impressive—lush, green landscapes with misty forests and volcanic craters. Everything was well organized, from the comfortable transportation to the timing of the stops. It felt intimate, authentic, and deeply connected to the spirit of the islands. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a meaningful, up-close wildlife encounter in the Galápagos.

The service provided by Galapagos Outdoors was absolutely phenomenal. They took care of everything for us, from picking us up at the airport and getting us to our hotels that were already booked by them. Each day, they would pick us up at the airport and get us to our excursions, which were action-packed, educational, and extremely adventurous. I can't recommend them enough.

I had an amazing trip with Galapagos Outdoors in November! I went solo and felt super safe and taken care of from the moment I got picked up at the airport. The Galapagos Giant Tortoise experience and Las Grietas were definite highlights. My guide, Andrés, was awesome — his stories and knowledge made everything way more interesting. Totally worth it, and I’ll for sure book with them again next time I’m back!
